♥Outward Bound Singapore (MOBILE)
My experience in OBS...wow man!!!All the teachers advice us to write about this trip.But seriously it was exhilarating..haha.. The duration was from 3-7May...5DAYS away from home!!!Don't know how i was to ever live wif that.
On the first day.Went to school to gather wif our big bags..all of us of cos were very excited la. Supposed to find Wilson get smth from him but he was nowhere to be found.haha..went up e bus when i saw him.But forget it. Ahh...funny..at first e bus couldnt get out from e school gate..then when we reached e jetty..i started puttin on e sunscreen lotion.All of em said i was kiasu..And so funny,Lissa fell down on e police sign...piak!.jus like tat...in front of everyone.Quite embarassing for her la.But hilarious! Yea...and after tat me, martha, jelin, Lissa and Kim were asked to get onto the speed boat..so honoured la..but it was by chance.we were e first to reach there together wif the instructors.Wa! when we realised tat walking from e jetty to the base camp2 was very tiring.But our journey havent even started.!!haha..when i was allocated my group..was quite upset no1 from 2C gang was inside.. but hey bey...making new friends is cool!!!
In my watch Livingstone i had Naomi, Helsa, YongZhi, Menglinn, Jeremy Tan KH, Fenny, Shuwen,Faris, Benedict,Mark, Siti, Liza, Ashikin. Haha..we were like all seperate cliques initially..since i only knew Naomi, Helsa, YongZhi, Menglinn, Jeremy Tan KH personally..but not the rest. Slowly got to talk to Fenny they all..FUN!!!We started warming up to get to know our two instructors..Mauricette and Kelvin(short for Didi).Then we finished our logistic stuff and played some team-building games.After that i cant rmb..think our first activity of tat day was kayaking..we had to learn how to capsize and rescue.I was with Naomi and we were like noobs la.Cos e last time i went was with nick ngo..haha..e time we got caught in e stupid fisherman's fishing line.well..back to OBS!.wad the..it took us like e whole afternoon la..we had dinner and learnt how to pitch up our tent and cook in the dark.we were in e flying fox area lo.So cool.haha.. but not allowed to go and play lo!SAD..
Second day..we had PT at 6.30..so tiring la.i cant rmb..i think we were preparing our stuff for our hike later in e evening. We were gonna be away from camp2 for a period of time. So all our food, tins, clothes had to be all packed into our haversacks..heh..so much food la..shiok man.But its like SUPER heavy la!!! i think aft packing we got ready to do belaying and rock climbing. Waliao..damn fun sia!!! haha...and e only pple who managed to climb to e top were me, benedict, menglinn, and i think tat's tat..haha..yea...e belaying part was FUN! Whoo..and i actually helped to motivate some1 who almost gave up halfway by saying "mind over matter".ha...chim sia..lalala..and it was kinda getting dark and we had to set off to anth campsite which is camp1. heh..during e hike..we were like all complaining cos we were really straining our backs. then i helped menglinn to carry e jerry cans holding onto e other side of e bamboo stick...hey..i think i could really cooperate eh?! haha..when we reached we had to pitch up our tents..ah...e best part at camp1 was e toilet..GOSH...e water is cool and nice..so CLEAN..haha..yea..had a great time in e showers..we were making stupid noises then. And by then we were ready to go for dinner..e buildings at camp1 is VERY NICE..omg.and they had e inverted towers and multi-purpose hall wif all e different types of obstacles and rock-climbing walls. we had food that was cooked by e canteen..better than e food we cook..i felt.heh..oh yes..i can rmb tat night.VERY FUNNY.Menglinn YongZhi they all were like disturbing us in e tents..and then desmond shouted something then e trainer scolded him. we all were like suaning meng linn bout jelin la..hah...but cant rmb e joke le.
Third Day, we were still at camp1..as usual we had PT in e morning.Had breakfast in e same canteen..then it was time for us to try e inverted tower..wow..i was supposed to partner Fenny, But later realised we should work in pairs of boy and girl. Ha...me and YongZhi got e chance to go up together...damn fun la..we took a really short time sia..we were fast..haha..jus tat got to strategise and see where and how to go wad..requires arm and leg power..when we reached e top..we were supposed to shout something..so i shouted yongzhi liking amanda...then tat yongzhi so crap shout wilson's name.LAME la.haha..so we got down and e rest got their chance.however, those doing e log obstacle took a really long time...then we din get to try it.haix..nvm ba.we had to go and keep our tents and then there were ALOT of super big red ants..haha..damn funny..YongZhi, Menglinn and jeremy used e lighters to burn e ants to death..so evil la..then so happen e tent mats all had burnt marks..yea.after tat we had some briefing for us to strategise on e route to another place..to camp overnight..haha..but then when we were supposed to set out...cap1 occured..it was raining.haha..so in e end..we stayed indoors and they briefed about our upcoming sea expedition.waliao..damn paiseh la..me and naomi were asked by one of e instructors to hold up e vanguards.heh..kept making faces. So each watch's instructors cooked for our dinner.haha...some watches jus came back from their sea expedition..then saw val, jac, and wenfang all sleeping in e hall..guess they were really tired.then watched e other watches doing e obstacle courses in e hall..haha..so interesting..we were about to set off to camp at some field..confirm muddy aft e rain..gross..yea...e instructors had to lead e way cos it was getting really dark..whoa..this time my torch light was really in good use la..haha..my shoes got muddy and sticky..worst still..when we reached tat grass field..it was completely in darkness..and our toilets were where e light sticks were..surrounding us were trees.Oh man..pitching tent in pitch dark..on muddy ground..wah..really disgusting la..we din get to bathe..and guess we really stinked..felt super dirty...haha..when we were all about to sleep..we heard people shouting..haha..there were wild boars at e girl's "toilet".scary. ya...
Fourth Day,when we woke up.all of us needed to take a piss..haha..so funny..we all were very scared to encounter any wild boar.and we had to burn our toilet paper tat was used.we had to keep our tents again...super muddy..then we shifted our backpacks to a boat..to bring back to mobile camp2..as we would be kayaking..oh man..at e beach area there...so disgusting la..so many roaches...disgusted..and i had to wear my wet shoes again which really stinked la..from all e sea water on e first day.ha...we took our paddles and kayaks..and we went to e waters...we had to form some diamond shape lo..haha..so this time naomi sat behind and i in front..haha..naomi still not very clear on how to navigate e boat..so we kinda slow la.but on e way we had to save two capsized boats..haha...tat joshua teo very funny la.cannot stand him..really tired and arms were aching while paddling..haha.BUT FUN...so hungry jus kept eating..and we din care if e jerry cans was dirty..we were really thirsty..haha..then we stopped at some small island for lunch near chek jawa...haha...e waters were quite clean..then found a cooked crab..haha..actually it was dead for being too long under sun..then turn red.haha..ya..so we continued our journey...this time i sat behind to navigate...oh man..it was even more fun than i expected la..haha...we were all getting very restless..going against currents and stuff..then it started raining..haha...STORM..oh man...currents super big..then me and naomi coordinated very well..managed to not go to shore...but then some of em got stuck at e shore..so e instructors ask us go seek for shelter..and we had it under an empty cowshed.and there were like more than 5watches squeezing into one small cowshed.haha..as usual...i kept eating. when e rain stopped..which was after 30mins later..we set off back to shore to push our boats back into e sea to paddle back to camp2.which they said was jus a few more km away...haha..i had e urge to release myself..so i went into e waters and i was stupid to actually kneel down..when i stood up..my whole leg was blood.aha..then all e guys joked tat later e sharks will come and attack me..haha..finally aft an hour..we arrived our destination..but there was like traffic jam..everyone tryin to get on shore..haiya..i dislike this part alot..mus carry e heavy kayaks..and some more so tired le still mus help to wash other kayaks comin up..cos there were like hundred of us..heh..aft all was done..i helped to carry our haversacks from e jetty to our meeting place..we were told tat we had to camp near e beach and cook our food there.but we could actually bathe aft 2 days..feel fresh aft tat.haha..there were kinda conflicts between e malays and yongzhi they all.. cos yongzhi accused em of not doing work and jus taking in..then he kept insulting and spread racism..evil guy.say wad those "san ge shadow"-3 shadows.but actually they are all nice people..haha..me and fenny shared same mass tin again..but she always eat so little..no good!!! haha...ya...and e ground had really hard rocks..that made it really uncomfortable. haha..then e guys kept disturbing out tent too..then keep pouring powder inside..stupid la..then aft tat when everyone wanted to sleep..everyone kept shouting at each other to shut up. so crap.
Fifth day..sad la..its e day we would be going back..but it was also kinda a relief lo..finally can go home..last day.woke up at 6am.awoken by the other watches.haha.anw coz last day.so the whole morning is jus for washing of tents, life jackets, n store cleaning.we started washing ard 8, then till 10 plus.and we had to do duty to wash e gals toilet la..haha..e boys so priveliged can enter. then we had one last activity.u mus jump n ring the bell thingy.then u'll land on ur front on a stretcher held by ur frens.smth like 'trust fall'.i was one of e gals who managed to hit e bell..aha..lol.anw later we went to the souvenir shop.bought a pink top and black OBS shirt for myself..yea..and another black shirt for someone..haha...then we had the last debrief.mauricette gave us our pics[which we took on the first day] n our certificates. I COMPLETED OBS! Or u can say WE all did.
