Boat Asia

Celebrated 33rd Month with Weijie at Boat Asia!

We met up at my place after his match, and made a trip down to Marina Keppel Bay. Decided not to waste the $20 tickets, and just gave it a go. Looked for Wennie in the exhibition, and tah-dah! There was Belle Belle, just woke up from snooze mode. Did some introductories, and we were granted access to a few yachts. Nice to have one, how I wish, that they were mine. Hahahaha. Got into the Audi Q5 showroom, totally stylish, would be awesome to own it too, on part of a wish. Played around with Weijie's DSLR, took loads of pictures of Belle Belle, and she loves being in the pictures. I found out her little secret, and what her favourite song is! So she probably stole the limelight from Wennie, but that's what kids always do! All in all, the Boat Asia wasn't that fantastic, but maybe an eye-opener on the luxury that rich, wealthy and famous people get to enjoy.

We parted ways at HarbourFront, Weijie and I had french cuisine for dinner at Fren(s)h@Vivo! Finally tried my Foie Gras, and authentic burnt caramel top Creme Brulee. Weijie had Duck Rilette, and I absolutely love it! French food made our day a better one, light too!

Thanks to all those who sent me birthday messages!
Celebrated this birthday over 4 days with friends and family, and with unexpected surprises!

9/4 Thursday:

I was anticipating towards the end of the day, leave workplace and meet my dearest friends for dinner at Timbre. As usual, Amanda and I were late. We arranged to meet on the same bus, and thank god for lady luck, I managed to get on the same bus as her when her battery was flat and there were two same buses. TE-LE-PA-THY!!! Chatted and of course there were gossips and dirty talks! Hahahaha. Everyone was waiting for us, so that I could bring them there from City Hall; Eames, Fione, Shuling, Jon. Lee, Jon. Yeo, Huiqi, Amanda, myself. The best part was... I've never been to Timbre before! Rushed as much as we could, to get there on time before our reservation is withdrawn.

Seated at our table, managed to jump queue if there were any. Food was good! We ordered fries, calamari, pasta, 4 different pizzas, and heneiken beer. The duck meat pizza was peculiar, as recommended :) Took pictures, ate, chatted about our attachment, blah blah. Received handmade cards from Jon. Yeo and the Lee couple, plus the shared present by all of them. Thanks guys! We waited for the band to start playing, and it was ___ . Saw Mr Ezal on the keyboard! Called Weijie to double-confirm if it was him. The songs were great!!! But right after the fourth song, all of them want to go off already. But in any way, thanks guys for spending an early birthday with me!

10/4 Friday:

It's Good Friday! No work, shiok! Spent the day with my closer budds, day time with Goh HuiShi, night with Nicole Ye, yeah!

Huishi and I were going to Taman Jurong to Prawnnnnnn! I suggested it because I wanted to try something different with her, instead of spending time in shopping malls. I've never been prawning before, and it was definitely a first rate experience in an almost third class setting. Hahaha.

The place looked run-down but acceptable for prawning. We paid $30 for a rod, and were given chicken's heart as the bait. There were 4 ponds, and only 2 were occupied. We settled down on 1 corner. Sat there for about 5 minutes or so, Huishi started to rant about how low the catch rate was, because based on her past experience, it took her less than 5 minutes to catch one! Once she said that, we caught ONE! Happy as we could be, an uncle helped us with our first catch.

Few minutes later, there came a 2nd prawn, and this was bigger with the blue pincer! It was scary man, and that scaredy-cat Goh Huishi so 'hamji' that she didn't dare to even touch it, despite the previous times she went. I tried to be the brave soul to unhook the bait from the fidgeting prawn, but it took me some time because I was also afraid it would bite me! There was this couple who just came, saw me hesitating, the girl shouted across, "WHY DON'T YOU JUST USE YOUR HANDS." I replied, "But I don't dare!" I finally plucked courage and just quickly unhooked it, and threw it into the net. From then on, I had something against that girl.

It began to drizzle after we managed to caught a few, so we headed indoors under shelter, and we decided to try out the other two people-less ponds. Sat there, and within few minutes we caught one! I bet the others were in awe of us, because our catch rate seemed more than theirs. It must be because I had beginner's luck, including the thing about female attraction. Hahahahaha. The same uncle who helped us earlier, came to us and told us that there are no prawns in that pond. Just as he said that, we caught another, this time it was HUGE. I think it's the biggest of our total catch so far. At that point, the other people started to come over and prawn in the same pond, but nonetheless, they had no idea there were no prawns in there. Yeaa, and we stayed there for the rest of our time during the rain, no catch AT ALL. Everyone there at our pond must have been disappointed.

Once the rain stopped, we shifted to another pond. We sat there and waited slowly for the stupid prawns to get hooked. I always caught the smaller ones, and Huishi always got the bigger ones. But putting on the bait and unhooking the prawn from the bait, it seemed like a routine. I saw the same couple catching a prawn, and she is like a pot calling the kettle black... no that's not right, I don't know how to put it. But she's like worse off than us. Her boyfriend managed to catch one, and she borrowed a pair of scissors from her neighbour. OMG guess what, she didn't even dare use her hands, she was so terrified even by using the scissors. She freaked out and jumped each time she tried to cut the prawn's pincers. LOSER LOR! I think she jealous that we were so lucky.

It was getting late, and it started to pour as we wanted to leave. What bad timing! Initially wanted to barbeque our prawns there, but because of the rain, we decided to go to her place and cook them! The staff there super nice! They actually offered us to use their umbrella and brought us to the bus stop. Back at Boon Lay, we had to run to Huishi's house, and we were all drench by the time we got to her door step. I cooked the prawns with butter and garlic, while Huishi was taking a bath. The prawns so big, so meaty, eat also shiok! What a day!

Nearer to sunset, I met Nicole at Jurong East platform, and I was elated to see her after such a long time! Had so much to fill her in with and vice versa. She can practically laugh at my stupid and not-so-funny jokes, and not make me feel like a fool. We went to Chilli Padi at Bugis for Nonya buffet dinner, and sat there till we were the last to leave. Thanks for the treat love! I still expect the written card or hand-drawn wishes you promised me ahhhhhhhh! We took 66 back home together, but alighted because the bus stank badly because of *ahem*, and took 157. I then realised that the bus doesn't go to her place! She wanted to walk home, so I walked her to at least a third of her distance. On my way back home, I chatted with boyfriend Chua on the phone because it struck 12 already and he wanted to wish me. He was telling me to be careful and be wary of banglahs around, later they rape me. Up till the lift, he cut the line, but I wasn't the least surprised because it always happens. Along the corridor, after a turn, I was caught by surprise and shock, because I thought there was a banglah standing there, waiting to rape me. Little did I know, it was Boyfriend Chua standing there with sunflower! He was in cahoots with Nicole, to coordinate the time to surprise me. Thanks again double love :))

11/4 Saturday:

It's my actual birthday and I was perked with joy juice! Weijie had things planned out for me, for the entire day till the night. In the morning, we went to East Coast Park with the initial plan to roller-blade, which was something I had always wanted Weijie to do, because he's someone who doesn't like to try new things, and of course, for me to laugh at. HAHAHAHA. However, change of plans because we wanted to try lobstering. The place was better furnished than the one at Taman Jurong, and there were two types of fishing available. Freshwater Prawning, and Seawater fishing- which had Tiger prawns, lobsters, and fishes. Since I've already tried the freshwater prawning with Huishi, I wanted to try the seawater one although it costs more at $45 for 3 hours. For the first 5 minutes, we made friends with a few uncles who tried to catch tiger prawns with their hands for us. They were experienced at fishing, and knew when was the time to do so. We also made friends with another guy who was about our age, and he too fishes as a hobby. He's damn good, he managed to catch 6 big fishes during his time period there. Since we were already friends, he insisted on giving us his own catch, and kept helping us hand-grab tiger prawns. In total we managed to catch 26 tiger prawns with our bare hands! We left our rod and prawns with our new friend, and went ahead for lunch at the Korean BBQ Restaurant. We had the unlimited BBQ meat buffet, and i swear we ate until we almost died of bloatedness. Boyfriend Chua went to get the prawns from New Friend, and off we went home to get changed and dressed up for dinner. We were too late for our initial plan, which was to watch movie and sit GMax at Clarke Quay.

We each parted at Jurong to go back home, and met back an hour later. Weijie gave me a bouquet of roses, which totalled up to 19 roses, each rose representing my age. Took the bus down, and rushed down to Modesto's to make it in time for the reservation. At the entrance, the railings were decorated with balloons and a happy birthday banner. So i muttered to Weijie, "Is this for me? Hahaha." Of course jokingly, I still had no idea. Then when we walked in, i saw Lissa. I thought to myself, maybe coincidentally they were celebrating for Jacq too. Weijie was tugging me aside, as if he was trying to "protect" me, in the sense that I may feel sad that it wasn't for me.

However, we walked in that direction, and Ta-dah! It was for me! I was too shocked to say anything, all I could do was throw hugs at everyone. All I knew I was very very happy, that all these were done for me :) Thank you Kim, Natalie, Charmaine, Fenny, Clement, Joshua, Evan, Lissa, Jane, and not forgetting Boyfriend Chua. I never expected him to throw me this surprise, because I always thought he was lousy at planning such stuff, but he proved me wrong :) I had no clue at all.

Shared pizza, Spinach baked pasta, al funghi penne. My birthday cake from chocolate truffle cake from Cedele was heavenly sinful. They actually used relighting candles, so I had to blow out and blow and blow and blow. Hahahaha. I guess it took me at least 1 minute to extinguish the candles. Chatted with them, took pictures, and it was time to meet Fel and the rest to club! GG got me this really huge Princess castle balloon, which could totally block off my half upper body when I put it in front. It really got me wondering how hard my time was going to be at the club. Distributed the other helium balloons to everyone, to "lighten" my load. Was late in meeting the others, and I was grabbing loads of attention with the big bouquet, cards, and balloons.

Met Gary and his group of friends, Felicia, Amanda, and Xiangyun. Felicia and Xiangyun got me a cake, and XY kept mentioning that I'd better like it because it costs them 50 bucks. Hahahaha, and I believed it. We walked over to St. James, and weren't too optimistic about queuing up. Good thing for us, Fel's boyfriend was in the house, so we managed to get his bouncer friend to get us in. The balloons were definitely an obstruction in anyone's way in th crowd. We were 'granted access' to the VIP lounge, so good thing for me, I did not have to worry about the balloons in the locker. There was no way I could even shuff the balloon into the locker, as the locker was only 1/4 the size of the balloon.

Gary and his group of friends had another ideal place in mind, but Gary so indecisive, want to come in, don't want to come. So they old people decided to go somewhere else for older people. HAHAAHA - this is a direct comment to Gary only. Anyway thanks for coming Gary! :)

Ok, back to St. James. Wheweee!Cut cake time, and we asked Fel's boyfriend's friends to join us and share the cake with us, made friends just 5 minutes ago, and we were in for a group photo. Hahaha! How sporting eh. Told XY the cake tasted like the oreo cheesecake she made before, and it was surely good and tasty. The next thing she said was, "Yah, because we baked it for you." AWW MAN! Shucks, touched me loads. Hahaha. They gave me a handmade card, reload that again. Hahaa. Thanks Fel, thanks XiangYun :)

We went out to get drinks, and the most I had was only a bottle of Hoegarden, wouldn't want to have vomit in my mouth at the end of the whole thing again. Thank god, for being conscious in such a crowd, I totally didn't enjoy myself, besides the fact that I was not "high", the word crowded is not even close to what we experienced, it was packed like tuna, not even sardines. Space-less to dance, moving through the crowd was as good as grinding everyone. Queuing to re-enter the place killed our mood to dance. We stayed all the way till next morning 5am, believe it or not! Now it was time to think of getting out of St. James with those balloons. Tugged it out with many people wishing me happy birthday and passing remarks and comments about the balloons. I tried my very best to not whack people with it.

So my final say is that, St. James totally sucked, boo boo thumbs down. But because of the company, my night was better :)

Took a cab down with Amanda to Johnathan's birthday chalet. When we reached, everyone was already sleeping except for Jon, Jingyi and Alicia! They hadn't slept! I spent $50 on cab to and fro, by just saying hi, sleeping there for a few hours, then turn back home. I was so tired that I konked out once I reached home.

I read this on Gary's blog and I think it is utterly hilarious!
"Went out to celebrate Elis birthday. Firstly, happy birthday to Elis, one year older already, so grown up and don't like a children still carry balloon to clubbing haha. Anyway, sorry for not joining you all at the power house. It super crowded like siao, not suitable for us la, and thanks Felicia for signing us in for free :)"

Since you say Sabai so fun, we shall go Sabai the next time alright!
Although your review sounded like it's for the older generation, "So we change to Sabai, and to our utterly dismay, we found that entry to Sabai for ladies is 18 year old. So Elis they all should have came here initially, that will definately made her birthday a remarkable enjoyable. Cos I don't think power house is anywhere near fun cause they have been going outside to walk quite a few time.Sabai was cosy and big. Live band very standard. They sing in English, Chinese, Cantonese and Hokkienese. Good mix of song. Alternate 1 hour, DJ will stream very nice R&B and English Pop so if you wanna work so fats, that is the time. Alternatively, you can also drink and enjoy music they sing. Still got dancer somemore. Very pro like that."
Sorry Gary, I can't help it, you are too cute that's why I'm posting funny paragraphs from your blog.

12/4 Sunday:

Had a treat from Dad at Swensens, and it was time to meet up with Threesome!

We arranged to meet at Botanical Gardens, no one reached at the supposed timing, but each was later than the other. By the time we reached, it was near evening time already. I went there empty handed initially, and both of them came with their 'barang barang'. It was all our picnic food. I felt so loved! They prepared lots of food for me us to eat! Huiqi made her specialty - homemade pizza bread, and banana pancake (thanks to Huinan too!) which has become my new favourite! Amanda wanted to make her specialty - Luncheon meat Sushi! But she overslept, but still, she bought lots of food that we definitely could not finish.

We found a spot on the big plot of grass, and laid out the picnic mat Huiqi brought, and like aunties, used all the remaining plastic bags as our seats. We had so much to eat and talk, that we chatted all the way into the night, there was no way to execute their initial plan on bringing me to Haji Lane! It was getting dark, so we moved our position to just below the lamppost. If not we cannot see what we eating, and the next thing we would know is eating ants! It was 9 pm already, by the time we left!

Love you guys loads! Thanks for all the planning and the food made with love! Hahaha. I definitely enjoyed my day with you, threesome!
