♥OBS Pinnacles III Leadership Course (RESIDENTIAL)
Whee! Went OBS again for the second time. Haha...but this time would be quite memorable. All the funny moments and how i got to learn to lead as a leader with the other 29 top personnels.At OBS campsite 1 Residential. Yups..this was how it went.
1st day, we started off there by playing interesting games that got us hyped up quite abit.Then we started introducing ourselves to the instructors and one another.It was really crappy la.People like abel, cedric, WJ, Clement etc called themselves child-abusers, supporters of it or against.LOL.and Dionel was known as the pornstar.Hilarious.So me and Huishi played along with me calling myself gay and her as tiko. But it came about that she was really a pervert.HEh. After that we went to take a look at our bunks and put our stuff down.We were splitted into different watches like Holt and Lincoln.And the rooms were different for each but in the same "House".Guys and Girls are like only seperated by a short door and low cupboard.Stand on the bed can see or climb over.Not safe sia.Not that bad la, but saw alot of bugs.Got quite disgusted.There was this colourful caterpillar with yellow humps and hairy tubed feelers...EWWW! And there were Lizards of different sizes. The guys found this lizard in one of the cupboards and used the wooden plank and smash the body.Gross la.But it was kind of amusing.You could see the Lizard wriggling and i guess it suffocated after a while cos no blood could flow. Finally,Lunch for us, starving.The food in the canteen wasn't that good cos we didn't like the cooks.haha.We had to get into our climbing attire and all of us were excited to start the first activity. We went through the same basics like belaying and the calls.After that we proceeded to the Multi-Purpose Hall for the rock wall.I managed to complete all 4flat walls and climb halfway up one of the walls that is "Ao Tu Bu Ping" in chinese.It was difficult la.I actually climbed it higher than norman did!!!I shouted and tried to facilitate the rest until i no voice.Heard Huishi took 30min on the flat wall and even cried.Kept laughing after i came to know bout it. And ya.The last wall, which was the most difficult one, i wanted to try and climb that one even though i was very tired.Oh my gosh.I couldn't even go up la,my hands and arms were too weak to pull myself up.No strength.Fell alot of times.And i bet WeiJie was damn tired belaying me la.took so long up there.Everyone was waiting for me le.But it was the encouragement from all of them that i had the motivation to jus keep trying.And Norman that jus kept pushing me to do it.Well, though i did not complete it i was quite happy. Holt went back to bunk first and took a bath b4 dinner, and after that we had this boring first aid talk that i slept throughout.Felt so sleepy and tired that i almost dozed off when we had the personality course(PEAK) at night. I was even the first to sleep in the bunk. So whatever they did to me i don even know.Haha.
2nd Day,ARGH!Had to wake up at 555hrs for PT.The whole of Holt woke up only 15min b4 it to get ready.We were almost late.But at least i had a good sleep.Now i realised y i was so tired, i thought it was bcos i exerted too much strength during the rock climb, but actually it was bcos of the chat i had with Nick and Evan the night b4 OBS.Ah, PT was quite ok,not that tough,but got to expect more the next few days.Its been a long time since i last exercised la.We had rubber band beehoon for breakfast but milo was GOOD.Our next activity was kayaking.I had to wear my Beautiful Adidas aqua shoes into the water for the first time.The seawater was damn sick la.DISGUSTING.And nicolette kept complaining,she so afraid that there were sea creatures inside that she didn't want to let go of our hands.Got quite pissed during the capsize drill. Cos Huishi couldn't bring the kayak near to natalie's boat, and i had to keep swimming over to push the kayak myself and back to my side.We were drifting towards another boat already la, and there was a dead fish in front of me.I almost drown trying to see-saw the kayak la, cos huishi wasnt pushing.aiyah, Was like doing everything la, like doing the capsize drill as a single kayak.Haix.But got over it after a while.Cos realised i've been shouting at her too much.So i'm in the wrong too. Lunch tasted good, but the guys made us wash all the dishes.idiot. We had to do the buddy climb with our buddies..which means me and HuiShi la.we had this belt like thingy that was attached to us so when we climb up we cannot seperate.We did the unstable rock wall and i'm quite happy with it.Volleyball and NCC didnt complete it at first. But track and field managed all the way till the top. Then me and huishi climbed all the way to the top.Although we took a long time, but at least huishi did not give up or cry.i'm proud of her cos of that. But realised that she would only listen when u scold her.She deserves many from me.HAHA. During supper, when we wanted to go back to our bunks, i missed when i tried to trip cedric, then he said he see me small and gave me another chance. Sarcastic la he. But when i stick out my leg i lifted it higher.CEDRIC TRIPPED OVER AND FELL!!! HAHA..damn funny.alot of them saw la.Then me, cedric and abel formed the GAY group. i was again, the first to sleep. we were supposed to plan for something for an INDIANA Arts Festival.Showcasing our leadership.But confirm fake one la.then we were all splitted up in 4teams.and of cos we had the 8 of us as uniform groups.discussed in the guys bunk, but the guys were lazy and said that we jus impromptu the next day, and came up with excuses that they would dream of it in their sleep.HA.
3rd Day, You could say this was the most boring day out of all 5days.It was planned that there would be no vigorous physical activities for us. so instead we'd be having theory lessons on leadership and boost our mental powers in the campsite along with some other games la.We had the usual PT at 555hrs and i emerged as the first few for the short run in the forest.YEA!Not bad eh.Thx to my shoes.Haha. After breakfast we had have our last discussion for the INDIANA Arts Festival thing.But it was screwed up for us the uniform groups.We had so many ideas but we chose the lousiest one.In the end we got last place.Haha.the guys tried to comfort themselves saying that the consolation prize very nice.haha..cos it was just two miserable biscuits.Ah..super slack.But learnt alot of things on how to lead,personally experiencing it, leader leading leaders.Ha.Cool.But it kinda sucked, got to get use to it though.There were some games that we played like: KeyPunch, matchstick-something that requires effective communication, Giant Skipping and Rafting on land that me and huishi lead, requiring facilitating and teamwork. When i get back to school i'm going to play these games with my GB girls. Haha..the games took up quite alot of time. we had the usual night class, and i had fun poking fun at norman's handwriting. after that we had to discuss on the route of the sea expedition for the next day..SUPER EXCITED,HAHA.Then Abel and cedric kept copying my Wad sia.so whenever we talked, that phrase would always come out, and there would be a CB and LJ after every sentence silenced.HEH..i told them about Hosea and Kenneth Ong's new invention.
4th day! The experience was really good!Our physical challenge was the cross-island sea expedition.B4 we started, we ran around the MPH 22rounds for PT. tiring after hearing the number of rounds, but it was not that tiring after all.Hee, felt like i lost quite some weight in OBS. And we were late everyday from then. I partnered jacqueline for the sea expedition and we were really strong, GIRL POWER!Haha, we had confidence in ourselves.Kayaking in the start got quite screwed up, all of them were very slow, and we werent even in a diamond formation.how to cut wind?HAHA.we all went very slow, and were behind time. mr navigator cedric goh missed the river part.Got stuck while trying to go in. and we hand to cross this bund so all of us had to get off and pull our kayaks across.WAH..the mud was sinking our feets la.Everyone's reaction when they got off their kayaks was damn funny.But the mud was shiok man.Teamwork really surfaced in bringing the people and kayaks over to the other side of the mangroves.i accidentally stepped into some super deep mud that i fell into someone's hands, so paiseh.Managed to take a piss b4 i got into the kayak..HAHA.and the mangrove waters were so shallow that we could only paddle the surface.Good thing that it was the monsoon season so it was high tide all the way. otherwise, we would have to be pulling our kayaks the whole time there.Oh ya.then we had to cross a bridge and took a rest there b4 carrying on.Ya know the toilet is really cool?! Its like wow.its somehow like a covered cubicle but inside have no toilet bowl, but just a few wooden planks with a missing one on purpose.haha.Then everyone can see your pee and shit dropping into the mangrove waters.SIck!But yea, perhaps we tried to think on the brighter side, it being urine therapy when we were splashed with those waters. Then WeiJie found this small crab and put into abel's kayak.HA.He found out in the end and demanded WeiJie to get it OUT the kayak. When were about to set off into another mangrove swamps, YunTing got in the kayak first, and she got really freaked out havin the crab on the kayak with her.Lol, the crab managed to get in by itself. The instructors are really naughty,PK and ShuYun. They kept splashing us with the mangrove waters.YUCK!And they kept sweeping us to the mangrove roots and trees.And we had a hard time trying to un-entangle ourselves from them.ha!We kinda lost our way in the river but managed to get out thanks to the navigators leading us at that time. So it was time for me and Jac to be the sweeper out at sea.We were crazy throughout la, screaming and shouting,paddling damn fast,super hyper-active after such a long journey in the kayak. Oh man, while trying to sweep all the kayaks in front of us, it kind of started to drizzle. The clouds seemed to get darker and bigger, lightning flashed and the thunder roared.Ooh.Scary. The current of the sea got stronger and all the kayaks kept rocking. Rafting back together was practically no use. We were more determined to reach the OBS campsite before the storm hits us. Chanel and Joaquina got very tired, and me and jac didn't know if we should wait for them or jus go first, as we were quite far from the watch, and the waves were like trying to overturn us.HAH!No hope la. After we finished, we felt really good about ourselves!All of us took only 10mins to bring up, wash and put the kayaks back on the racks. Come on, we are good man!And as leaders, we also helped the MGS people to bring the kayaks up on land.Whoo!Our target to reach the campsite was 6, but we actually reached our destination at 3.45pm! Haha, we got time off from then to 7.30. So we washed all our stuff and went to take a bath before taking a nap. But me and HuiShi kept laughing and playing until we fell asleep. We woke up late, and had to rush during dinner and meet back at the meeting room. We were told to mix around with the two genders so WeiJie "invited" me to sit next to him and clement. Oh yea!So i had fun kachiowing him with the poking face game.HAHA!We had this activity that we had to use paint to express our feelings. Wow! The painting looked great with all the weird abstractions and different colours.I had some paint fight with the guys.FUN! ANd cedric requested to be painted with the 2words he got influenced by me-WAD SIA. He's always copying peoples' slangs and stuff, now all the trademark that was mine is like now his.Now all the top personnels are like saying the same thing. We had some sharing about our expedition's experience, and yeah, there were alot of thankings and talk about the funny stuff that happened. But the Best part was when we went back to the bunks. SUPER CRAZY! All of us did not feel like sleeping so early so we ALL decided to stay up, even after our lights out(anyway, they don't bother coming to check) The guys were like kicking apples and oranges like they are soccer balls, leaving orange and apple juice all around the floor and walls. Then they were trying to learn the moonwalk from abel.So i joined in the circle of them. Really funny! They look like some dumbos trying not to fall(as the floor is slippery because of the juices..haha..and partially because of the rain) They were like doing sick stuff, like the KUNGFU trying to attack the guy's you-know-what. Haha. Cedric went abit mad,he wanted to slide down the slope using cardboard in the rain. So norman, william and himself put on the ponchoes and went out into the rain. Oh man, so cute la! They looked like 3hobbits that lost their way and landed in OBS residential. They tried to slide down on the pathway, but it was not slippery or smooth enough. So cedric wanted to try sliding on the hill opposite our watch-house. Clement joked that all of us will have a big laugh if he lands up with his legs in between the lamp post that was just on the side of the pathway.OMG!Cedric, really lost his balance and slipped, and landed up the same way. All his F1 supporters were like clapping like monkeys, just for him! Oh ya, they also tried to crenate the dead lizard that got smashed in the cupboard on the first day and the irritating fly i caught that kept flying around my bed.Poor thing lah!They used zippo and put a poured a big "?" over them. Then use a lighter and mosquito repellent spray.WHOO!Big FIRE!Not that big la.haha.We were like so scared the fire wouldn't extinguish,but at least we were smart enough not to use the poncho.Otherwise we got to pay for them.haha.All of us felt tired already, so the girls jus went back to sleep in their respective watch rooms. 5th day
