chalet and sentosa

INCOMPLETE POST YET AGAIN.
Tuesday

It was the SL chalet, and I was specially invited by ah gong to go. And it was a good thing I was there, because the numbers would had been lesser, due to several reasons. Myself, Jon Yeo, Huiqi, Huiting, Hua Dong, Ying Hua, Shi Yan, Yun Fang, Danny, Jing Yi, Jia Wen, Mr Aaron Chua.

I met up with Huiting and Huadong at IMM to get the food stuff required for the night's dinner, and as per usual, all of us were late. The Giant Hypermarket at IMM is screwed up, and the service like cock. We took at least 20 minutes just to find aluminium foil, and we didn't buy it in the end. All the staff there just pointed directions on where the foil was, and none was reliable, with them pointing everywhere. This was an excuse for being late, and Aaron Chua was the kindest soul to actually drive all the way from the arranged place Tiong Bahru, to IMM, just to fetch us to Changi Aloha. Thanks yo Aaron Chua shuai ge! We picked Huiqi up at Clementi, and there we go onto the AYE to Aloha, to meet Jon Yeo Ah Gong.

Our chalet was just beside the Old Changi Hospital, and the Chalet's rooms were indeed freaky. Broken cabinets, and all the furniture were of old age. We walked over to Changi Village, and met up with Yunfang and Shiyan, to have lunch at Subway. Later on, we bought the necessary items like the drinks and ice-cubes, and went back to the Chalet.

We had to start to cook so that dinner would be on time, and it was about 5pm. The other food needed oil, and we had to wait for Eames to come to provide us with it. I started off with my Assam prawns, and I called my dad for the recipe. I am supposed to be quite amateur in cooking, but apparently not to my friends. He told me to squeeze the Tamarind's juice, but I bought the thing in a form of a block, and totally had no idea how to squeeze it. SO, I just took the whole block and mixed it with the prawns. There were so many seeds, that I had to try and pick them out one by one. It looked like shit, but when we started to cook it, it smelt really good! It was the first dish to be on the table, but it was left untouched for a pretty long time. Huadong made the grass jelly with cocktail fruits, Huiqi cooked her Kimchi soup, Yinghua did the french toasts, the others cooked the chicken rice without the chicken, mashed potato. The rest of the food had to wait, because we needed the oil. Jingyi and Eames lah, came so late, at about 7pm. We cooked the remaining dishes, like the Sambal KangKong, Pasta with prego sauce, fried self-made wanton, brocolli soup, black pepper chicken. Jon and Yinghua cooked the cereal prawns, looked and smelled nice, but didn't taste like the REAL cereal prawns. Hahaha. Eames had the Curry Vegetables readily prepared. I used half the pasta noodles to cook with bacon and hotdog, which they thought it was weird, but tasted good with their modification of adding egg and milk, it tasted like carbonara.
By the time we all could sit down and eat, it was already 10pm! We took 5hours to cook up this meal! All the food had already turned cold, and we wasted alot of food, I felt really guilty, we never think for the people in Africa. Thank goodness we had Danny to help us lessen the food wastage.

We stayed in the chalet watching Arts Central, a 11pm show called 'Truth Destination', about ang mohs finding ghosts in the most haunted places in Thailand. The show did not scare us one bit. We decided to go down to Old Changi Hospital which was only about 100 meters away, for some real experience. Some of them backed out and decided to wait for us below, whilst the rest of us walked up the long dark eery staircase in pairs of 4. JingYi and I held onto each other closely because we were getting jitters, but we tried to digress away from the thought by talking about the mosquito bites we were getting. We managed to get up there to get a glimpse of the front building, but we were wanting to go back down, except the few of them who managed to tour the outskirts of the building. I wanted to see how the place really looked like, so they went back up with Eames and I, as the rest decided to stay downstairs to wait for us. We walked around the compound of the OCH, but we decided not to go inside, because it was giving me the creeps. The freshly cracked lightsticks made the place less scary, meaning there were people there. Although we each saw shadows, but it did comfort us that the shadows were from real people. We were still hesitating whether to go in or not, but once we turned around, we felt a gust of wind brushing across our legs. Eames and Danny wanted to go down already because they were feeling very uneasy, so we all decided to go back down. We thought of going back to Old Changi Hospital the next morning, but we did not go in the end.

We all strolled down the Changi Village to check out the Ba Poks (transvertites), we only saw a couple or two. We walked back to the chalet by the Changi Beach, and it was long alright. Once back at the chalet, it was already 3am, we played truth or dare with blackjack. Only after a few rounds, I took a nap with Huiqi, while the rest continued to play and do ridiculous things. I was damn tired but just couldn't go to sleep because they were damn noisy. We finally had some peace and quiet when they went down to cook maggi. But I know I missed out on alot of fun. :(

Wednesday

It was 10am the next day I woke up, and I woke up to discover the people sleeping around me was different. Huiqi, JiaWen and Danny had already gone home. I walked around the chalet rooms, and went to find whoever was downstairs. I went into the living room, the kitchen, then found them in the room on the first floor. Jon was still awake amazingly, he seemed like he didn't get a wink at all. I salute you jon, for staying up the whole entire night. I took a bath alone, and thought I heard weird piping noises, but didn't think much otherwise. Eames said he did hear stuff around in the chalet, and Huiting felt something weird. But oh well, I'm just lucky not to feel anything like that. The toilet lock on the second floor had some kind of problem.

We took a bus to Changi Village to take another bus to Tampines. From Tampines bus interchange, Shiyan and Yunfang went off. We took a train down to Harbour Front and had our brunch at Seah Lim Market just across the road from Harbour Front Centre. We were thinking of going over to Yinghua's place to play mahjong and play Playstation, but we decided to go to Sentosa instead, on a sun-less, cool and breezy day. At Sentosa, JingYi and I changed into our bikinis and played volleyball, swim, and tried to tan. We spent the whole day playing volleyball and it was great! I felt like I've improved soooo much, I'm finally an amateur at beach volleyball now. From someone who can't even serve and hit the ball, to one who can serve and hit the ball over the net. Aren't you proud of me, Weijie? We played a dare, and had a girl power match with boy power. Girl power lost a game because we used the wrong formations, so we had to go and find this Angmoh couple and call them Pretty and Handsome, and give them a chip. We accomplished it.

While I was playing volleyball with them, JingYi went swimming alone. Once we finished a few rounds of volleyball rally, I went to find JingYi. To my horror, she was no where to be found in the waters. All of us tried to look around for her, but not anywhere in sight. We all thought she really drowned, and started to get very frantic. We checked if she went somewhere else like the toilet, but her phone and shirt was still under the shelter. Danny Eames and Huadong almost wanted to jump into the sea to find her, whilst Huiting Yinghua and I combed the shorelines across the other side, that I almost wanted to tell the lifeguard about her disappearance. Someone went to ask the ang moh couple if they saw JingYi, and told him where she walked to. We found her by the rocks at the Rasa Hotel. What a scare! That Lao Bu Bu didn't behave herself. We continued playing volleyball, and had a match with this group of guys from ITE Yishun.

We played till about 8pm, went to wash up and got ready to leave the place. I left my camera at the plants area near the volleyball court, so I asked Danny my Lao Bei Bei to help me get it, because he was already ready to leave the place and I needed to go wash up. It was about 10pm already by the time we reached Vivo. Some of them went off, and we had our dinner at Carl's Junior. Lao Bei Bei and Lao Bu Bu came late because they went to play the Luge ride! Lao Bei Bei gave me a scare when he said he didn't remember me asking for my camera. I finished a Portbello Mushroom Burger meal on my own, and I suppose it's quite a big accomplishment.

I'm talking champagne wishes and caviar dreams.
