SAI KUNG IS LOVE. LOVE IS SAIKUNG!

HIKING AT SAI KUNG WAS AWESOME!

To be amazed and amused! :)

Nothing explains better than pictures do for this trip.

So this is the beginning of our trip! We thought plans for this hiking trip had been cancelled, because of the continuous pourings over the past few days due to typhoon season. However, Idy gave us a call when we were still in bed at 1030am, and told us that the hike is still on! Weather was reasonably good, with slight drizzles. We were quick on our toes, to get all the necessities ready for our adventure! Wheeeeee!

We were late in meeting Idy at Cai Hong MTR station, but she seemed okay with it! We were introduced to her friend, whom she met on another hiking trip, Paul. Excited and enthusiastic, off we gooooooo! Boarded a mini bus (and it was our virgin time on a mini bus) to Sai Kung. Ever wondered why they have a speed-o-meter facing the passengers? The scenery was fabulous, very countryside and not so urbanized.

We met a bigger group of people at Sai Kung checkpoint, and interestingly, they are just friends of friends of friends that come together almost every week! We had breakfast at Macdonald's, and I actually had fattening 4 piece McWings even before attempting to lose some fats. I have sinned greatly,so much oil that I needed to drain out on those hills! We all took a cab, having either 4 or 5 people on each cab. We noticed that in the city, the cabs are in red, whilst the cabs in the outskirts are green! Green cabs are generally much cheaper, but we had no idea why we were instructed to hop on a red one.

It was about a 20-minute ride into the not-so-accessible hills, and ta-dah! We alighted at a pavillion, our starting point! It was raining; pitter-patter-pitter-patter, but it wasn't going to dampen our moods, it was a "Let's Get Wet" attitude! Lam Fung is so INSPIRATIONAL. Idy was so sweet, she brought raincoats for Sharon & I, for she knew we would definitely meet with rain! Idy was holding onto a G10 (my dream camera!), and we both hid our cameras under our raincoats. So our first checkpoint - Sai Wai Village.

We walked and talked, getting to know each other better, with lots of picturetaking. The terrain was breathtakingly spectacular! Blue-ish clear waters in between green top hills, the setting looks fake, but come on, it is all natural's beauty!

Upon arrival at Sai Wan village, we met wild cows next to us along the pathways, and piles of cow dung on the steps and pathways. The villagers were selling beancurd that is made using well water. Cool! But didn't get to try because they say it is unclean. The 'kampong' looked like the ones in Pulau Ubin, but some of the houses looks better developed.

Settled down at some sheltered pavillion by the beach, to quench our thirst and hunger pangs for those whose stomach digests food really quickly. I was still full from my McWings, but had Bubble Tea and shared luncheon meat with egg in instant noodles with Idy and Sharon. Tried snapping shots of divers resting on the rocks with my PowerShot. This was the time I realised that one of my camera's function is spoilt! Damn, I'm not going to send it for repair again.

On Hong Kong's very own beach! The guys played many "Dare" games, and Paul the loser had to jump into this disposed tyre that contained a pool of seawater. Splash, he went in. We walked further down, and

Stunningly magnificent view, ain't it? You don't get it in Singapore or in city districts, do you?
I love the spider photo!
The hills were steep, that I could hear myself panting while were moving up. E-lis, you are so weak! It was my first time hiking with slippers! My slippers slipped off my feet quite a few times, and the feeling of it coming off made me feel as if I'd roll down if I wasn't too careful!

A group photo! We love HIKING!

Our next checkpoint; wherever you call it! The beach they mentioned that we'll stay for quite some time.

Look like we are having fun? Yes we are!

More fun shots with fun peeps! Everyone loves to cam-whore yo!

Hey girl, I wanna catch your wave!
Wanna be Hong Kong's next top model?

A game I played with Jason, who can throw the slipper the furthest. Surprisingly, I WON! See those things flying in the air, cool beans! Totally. Jason now owes me Haagen Dazs!

We had to wade through this swampy area, and it was really scary because there were frogs and toads everywhere. They were making disgusting sounds, and it could be heard as if they were so near that they'd jump onto your feet anytime! It was a relief, once we got out of it. Walking through the forested area, I sure did face some difficulties stepping on branches and rocks wearing slippers, but it was fine alright! I felt like Tarzan. Hahaha.

Surfboards for sale, and paintings of waves on the walls of buildings. I'd want to learn surfing! I'd be the coolest person in the world if I'd be able to surf on the waters during typhoon signal 8! This place is so alike to Pulau Ubin.

It was getting dark, and we finally completed our journey!!! It was like Journey to the West, and I resemble zhu ba jie (Piggy). It seems weird that I am shooting myself, oh welllll. They called for the boat to come and fetch us, and a larger sized motor boat came to pick us up soon after.

After the boat trip, we arrived safely on grounds of the Ferry Terminal at Huang Shi (Yellow Stone). We boarded a bus to go back to Sai Kung, and had dinner together as a whole. Sheesh, the Thai food we had was a fake! It's non-authentic!

Took a mini bus back to Hong Kong Island from Sai Kung, for HKD 20 (SGD 4). Better still, it was gonna take us back to Causeway Bay just next to our apartment. We were exhausted, but we were afraid that we'd miss our stops, so we decided to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the night view of Hong Kong, from Kowloon back to City.

We had such a great time, thanks to our new friends found, especially to Idy who made these possible by making arrangements for us to tag along.

I'm talking champagne wishes and caviar dreams.
