♥Genting
I made a trip down to Malaysia's infamous highland, Genting, with my dad and aunt Waileng for the weekend. My another aunt, her husband and son was there too.
A 2day 1night stay at Genting First World Hotel, I don't count the night on the coach as one.
The bus to Malaysia was freezing cold, my jacket over me wasn't enough to keep me even 50% warm, the "five star" coach do not even provide blanket. I was really tired, but I found it very difficult to go to sleep, perhaps it was due to the air-con blowing directly at my balding head, and there was no way to switch it off because I think the louvres were stuck.
The coach was in midway of its journey to Genting, and I had a glimpse of Malaysia's most spectacular view of the night scenery; Stars. I had never seen anything like it before, and it was so close like it was right before me and I could reach out for the stars, just that the stupid glass window was a barrier. There were countless of stars big and small twinkling in the sky. I was so mesmerized, that I had no idea why I had goosebumps on my hands. I woke my dad up just to see the stars, he himself was amazed at what we were looking at. I really regret not asking my dad to lend me his phone to take a picture of the view, but he went back to sleep soon after, so had better not disturb him again. Weijie lah! Don't want to lend me his Canon 400D.
We arrived at Genting First World at 3.30am, and check-in time was 12pm. OMG lah, I almost "died-ed" waiting. The adults happily made their way to the casino after the wee hours breakfast at macdonald's, and left me all alone, stranded, nothing to do. I was like a loner walking around aimlessly to and fro, that I even think that the staff there could already remember how many pimples were there on my forehead. Okay, lame. I sat and stood up numerous of times, and I was actually auntie enough to quickly find myself a spot at the waiting area near to the power plug, so that I could charge my handphone and PSP.
I'd presume I had walked from one end to the other of the highlands hotel. So damn boring. Nothing interesting to look at, except for this.
I had the best view of the morning sunrise! The clouds and the sun, together with a slight fog, made it a beautiful picture. Sadly, my phone's camera spoiled, if not I would have taken a gazillion pictures of it. I brought my polaroid along, and took a picture of it, but my fingers spoiled the picture. And YES, I have a few pointers for those first-timers at Polaroids like me. I wasted 4 films which costs $8.
I survived the ordeal of waiting, and finally got to check ourselves in with our bags. Lunch was chicken rice and I thought the chicken they served me must have been really muscular, the meat was so tough that it felt like chewing candy. Daddy initially gave me only 200ringgit, but he topped it up for me upon my request for more money to shop. Hahaha. I was really frightened to ask at first, because I expected him to shoot me down instead. I went to do my shopping, no, market surveying. I went to every shop, look at sales, see if I like anything. Turn out, I remained a loyal customer to the Factory Outlet Store. They didn't have the brands that I had been wanting to get, but I did get some nice stuff. There's a new Mango Outlet, it's not even Sale price, now Singapore sucks for this! Because Malaysia's soooooo cheap! Even with Mango on Sale you see here in Singapore, a pair of jeans may cost you say about SGD$50. When I was over at the Outlet store there, it's like RM$50!!! Halved the price when you convert. I patronized each these two shops at least 5 times, and I felt really embarrassed about this, because the staff who served me were always the same.
There was a Vietnam Fair next to the Outdoor themepark but it was nothing compared to the Thailand Fair they had last year. I bought 3 pencils for RM10 to compensate knocking over the whole tin of pencils and dolls, service from the stupid woman was crap, she still 'tsk' me when I already apologized lah.
Dinner was at some cafe, because Daddy says that my 'gugu'(aunt) family don't spend their money on feasts, so we had to eat at somewhere cheaper. SIAN LAH. When dad asked where to eat, I wanted to have buffet dinner, or like dinner at the expensive Olive Restaurant. In the end at the cafe. The food was not too bad, but I still feel sore and unhappy about it, because for the whole trip I didn't get to eat at a nice place which daddy usually brings us to. After dinner was time for them to go back to the Casino, and time for me to do some shopping again. But it's so boring because the only two shops I walk into are F.O.S and Mango. Grrrr.
I went back to the room early, and took a bath. It was refreshingly cold, and I took out my laptop to have an attempt at my IBT project. I put on a collagen mask I brought over, and fell asleep after putting it on. Daddy, Auntie Waileng had made a date with me to the movies at 1.30am, and the timing was chosen by Daddy. We watched Hancock, Auntie Waileng slept throughout the movie, and I found it nice, but Dad said he suffered just to watch this stupid show. Go back to the room everyone just dropped on the beds and fell asleep.
