♥out with Daddy
Thursday and Friday had been a day out with Daddy, to compensate for all the guilt of not being there to accompany him the whole week. He has a 1 month MC, and I wouldn't be able to spend much time with him.
Thursday
Brother and I went to the Jurong Polyclinic with Daddy to get his wound dressing done. The waiting time took us about half an hour, but it only took him 5 minutes to come out of the room. Grrrr. Weijie came to meet us at the bus stop, and we took a one-stop bus ride down to have Bak Ku Teh at the Hawker Centre. Neh Beh, damnnnnnnn nice lah! The taste still lingers in my mouth, two bowls of refills wasn't enough! Brother didn't come along with us, so the rest of us took the MRT to Paya Lebar and walked towards the HDB Flats. We took the lift up to the house, where my Dad always went for his backbone consultation. Weijie went through all the massages and therapies, and Dad bought him the Backbone brace for 90bucks! That's expensive, but cannot beat the shoulder-backbone brace he paid for, 120bucks! And that doesn't include the consultation fee man!
Alright, after that we wanted to go to the Hotel's restaurant for lunch, however, we couldn't find the Nonya Buffet, and Dad was craving for Turtle soup. So we gave in to him since he's an old man, and took bus 7. Daddy claimed that it will go Geylang Lorong 19 Road, and I even asked him to confirm it with the bus driver but he said no need. Nope, the bus turned instead of going straight, and Dad said it was okay, because he had wanted to go to the Buddha Tooth Temple. It surely wasn't our lucky day, Bus 7 doesn't go to Chinatown! We decided to go Holland Village to eat the famous XO Fish Beehoon, and the place have yet to open. Wahhhh, we ended up eating Kway Chap at the hawker centre.
We sort of sent Dad home along the bus journey, and Weijie and I were just in time for our haircut appointment. The hairdresser was a cool lady who rides a white motorbike, she has really long hair which you can imagine her hair flying in the wind as she rides the , and her name is Yoou. Her saloon at some very ulu place in Jurong West, and she maximizes the use of the space, decorating the place with a very Mediterranean-boho look. She helped Weijie trim his hair, and she helped me to cut the style I wanted. So far, she's the only hairdresser who cuts my hair the way I wanted. Power, I love her lah! I'm going back there for my haircuts in future! Headed home to change out, and went running with Chua Weijie at Bukit Batok Nature Reserve. We ran a very short distance, but nevermind, at least I managed to burn off some fats yo! We even played five-ten-fifteen-twenty all the way out of the park, four feet being to have to jog a few lamposts away. He sent me home and I went to have dinner with Dad. That's it!
Friday
Had breakfast with Daddy, Aunt Waileng, and my brother at the hawker center at our house downstairs. Wheee, my century egg porridge with raw fish (yusheng)! Later on, Weijie joined us again, and my brother left as usual. We took the MRT and walked to the Buddha Tooth Temple. Because I was wearing shorts, I had to wear the sarong thing to show respect for the temple. It was my first time there, and the place was really very commercialized. They had aircon in the whole place, you could buy 20dollar offerings, people could adopt statues as donations as much as 80,000bucks, and the relics looked like beads etc. My dad spent at least 40 bucks on just small donations alone. No doubt the temple looked clean and beautiful.
We went for Dim Sum, and it wasn't Yum Cha, so it wasn't the least nice. Aunt Waileng went for work, because she only took half-day off, so we sent her off at Outram Park, whilst Weijie and I accompanied my Dad for the rest of the day. Daddy wanted to watch the movie Painted Skin, so we took the train down to Dhoby Ghaut and walked to The Cathay. Had a good chat with Dad and his past, and I was pretty excited it was only the 5th movie I'm watching with Dad! Plus first time with my boyfriend! It's so damn obvious he's already accepted Chua Weijie, like almost his own son. Awwwww. The movie was okay, and we sent Dad home on his way again by Bus. I accompanied Weijie to develop his black and white pictures from his Ricoh camera, at some shop called Miao Lann. The service nah beh bad lah, the film was spoilt in the ending part of the roll, but I mean the film was left there for 3 days already, and nothing could be done meh? We gonna go back and collect the pictures a few days later, and we'll see if they even bother developing it out for us. We then went to IMM to get the stuff for his ex-class's BBQ the next day, and I bought prawns home to cook with Daddy :D Had subway for dinner and met Ng Sihua. Hahaha. Reached home and got Daddy to teach me how to cook the real Assam Prawns. Now I know what he meant by squeezing the tamarind's juice. It was too watery because Daddy kept adding water, but it tasted nice alright!
LOVE YOU DADDY!
