♥Night Cycling Recee & Big Walk 08'
I think I'm like damn power lah. I went for night cycling with the Main Committee throughout the night, until the next morning, and went for the Big Walk right after I reached the end point.
Night cycling with Geraldina, Guo An, Michelle, Benson, Sihua, Chervel, Junxian, Justin, Weijian, Xiangyun, Gary NBC, Wayne, and Vanessa was Ggggreat! I had fun I suppose.
First, met up with Geraldina, Sihua, and Michelle at Jurong East. I had so much to do at home before coming out of the house. Like settling the stupid photographer's stuff to send him, project stuff to send to the rest, and then pack bag and get ready to go out. Oh gosh. I was sooooo late, like for almost half an hour. But thanks to Guo An, I was even later because he was reaching the station and I had to wait for him. In the end, I got scolded by Geraldina for being ultra late- 40 minutes. Guo An and Geraldina were half dead on the train, and thank god I was fully recharged, prepared to stay up the entire night.
We got to East Coast late by half an hour, and solely blame it on me again. We grabbed subway sandwiches to go, and got our bikes before the shop closed. 7bucks per bike for an entire night, cheaply worth it! Shijie was there to give us her full support physically and spiritually, she came all the way down from Serangoon just to bid us a safe and good journey ahead. She couldn't cycle because she donated blood, and something happened at home. HAHAHA, I shall not say any further lah, if not she will slaughter me.Off we went on the speeding bicycle, and wheeeee, so fun. Warm up exercise cycling to the shorter end of East Coast Park. With Wayne leading us, and I behind Vanessa, had a good chat with all around me indeed. I think I was really nice because I was helping Guo An, Benson, and Vanessa carry their stuff in my crumpler. Moral of the story, do not bring big bags to avoid helping carry people's load. At the beginning of our journey, we had screams from the back, either Sihua or Xiangyun. Hahaha. And Vanessa almost hit and scratched a car because her water-filled bottle was pulling her to the side. Whew, close shave, she did hit the car slightly, but there wasn't anyone in the car. The route had slight changes, but more or less, it was about the same. The suckiest thing is that, WE WEREN'T GOING BACK TO THE BEDOK HAWKER CENTRE, SO MEANS NO MORE MINCE MEAT NOODLE (BA CHOR MEE). SIANNN, LIFE SUCKS. Oh well. There were so so many highways and uphills, and it was really tiresome. But we were always rewarded with a long downhill. Fast and breezy :D
We were splitted up into batches 1 and 2. Batch was had Wayne leading, Geraldina, Guo An, Vanessa, myself, and then Justin. The rest were put under Batch 2. We had a lot of resting time, because most of the time we had to stop by at any bus stop (non pit stops) to wait for them to come. The longest was about 30 minutes? Hahahaha. Past midnight, and we owned the roads like as if they were our grandfathers'. We rode along this very isolated road on Tampines Road, which just had hovering trees along the road blocking any light coming from the moon. In certain sections of the road, there were no street lights at all, almost complete darkness, but still visible from ahead. Freaky indeed, Vanessa and I were freaked out, so we rode even faster than our normal speed. The uphill there, holy cow, it felt like it was never-ending, but like I say again, we were rewarded with a really long downhill, to top-up with the shiok experience, it was my first time seeing soooo many stars in Singapore. The downhill was at least 3 minutes. LONG RIGHT! Hahaha.Continued to chat and chat, soon enough we were finally at Pasir Ris. We stopped by White Sands and bought snacks at 7Eleven. Most of them bought Mash Potato, and ate like they had never eaten before. They had a Barbeque flavoured Mash Potato and I thought it was not bad, but the original's still better. Vanessa and Wayne tempted me to get Cup noodles, and yes we did! Kimchi Instant Noodles, SHIOK LAH! Chervel was telling us to buy the Nissin brand cup noodles, but kept mentioning it as 'Nissan'. Hahahaha. Then we were all like, HUH, you want to buy car is it? LOL. We were still deciding whether we should still go on the 30km route which would be through Changi Village then the endless road, or turn back to the same route on 16km. Crazy lah, 16km including all the downhills inverted into uphills, it's total madness. We'd just be pushing our bikes up most of the time. I'd rather 30km without much uphills and just straight roads. Gosh. So our final decision, was Changi Village, so we could eat supper at the hawker too! Geraldina bought this bottle of 'kiam kiam', pickled lettuce, and it tasted good! So good that after she donating a few to all of us, we went ahead to buy another bottle to add into our noodles. Never tasted preserved vegetable so good before.
It was time to set off, at about 2 hours past midnight. We cycled all the way down to Changi Village, and there were uphills again :( Graarrl, I was sooooo exhausted cycling up that my head jerked like I was doing an Indian dance. Geraldina was laughing at me right behind. Gary and I chatted all the way, and most of the time along Pasir Ris Road, Guo An, Gary and I clustered together, talking crap and scolding vulgarities. HAHAHAA. The most hilarious thing was that while going up the stupid uphill, Gary was teaching us to say "Nah Beh, Chee Bai, Nah Beh, Chee Bai" to keep up the momentum as we pedaled. FUNNY SIA. I laughed my ass off. Gary is just so annoyingly cute. Caught up with Geraldina and Wayne all the way to Changi Village, and we saw all the Ba Poks in the carpark. There were the leftover few; big breasts, masculine build, tall, skimpily dressed, and just plain UGLY. We brought our bikes up to the hawker centre, and there everyone reached soon after. So many people were dead on one's feet, like they could just tremble and fall anytime. Sihua and Xiangyun's face were the most comical ones. Hahaha. Their face read, "I hate this, I want to go home, I don't want to cycle anymore." I ordered a bowl of Red Tea Jelly Ice. There were only a few food stalls opened, including the Nasi Lemak stall. Bought a drink at 7Eleven, and I tried HoeGarden's beer already; Nice!It was time for some chionging time, from right at the back, all the way to the front. Once I overtook Geraldina, I asked her,"You first woman ah? Anyone in front of you?" She shakes her head and said, Nope. Sian. No more competition, no one to catch up with. Slowed down my pace, and then Geraldina chiong even faster and overtook me. Hahaha. Was just about to stop at the usual resting place at the end of the ALMOST endless road, and I saw Geraldina stopping there already. Because the last few times for Night cycling, we were also together. Somehow, it took us about less than an hour to reach ECP, and it didn't feel as tiring as I thought it'd be. Vanessa and Wayne cycled ahead of us, and then after that Weijian and Sihua joined us to rest. We set off again, and we started to race! Hahaha. Weijian tried to act hero and speed up ahead of us, but he was on Gear 1 and I was on Gear 2 or mid 2-3. Whenever I was nearing him, he would pedal even faster, and then after that slow down again. But wants I keep up with the same pace as him, I would go ahead twice as fast as him. HAHAHA. So funny lah. I finally overtook him and joined Geraldina in front. Then while cycling, we turned behind to find Weijian, but he was nowhere in sight. Then we saw on the left there was this guy wearing red, with the red light on his bicycle blinking. Then I said: "Isn't that Weijian?" Geraldina: "Huh, No lah, it's not him." On a closer look, Geraldina said: "Eh Ya hor, it's Weijian lah!" We were on the cycling route, and Weijian played cheat, he cycled on the Pedestrian route. We decided to give chase, but Geraldina was very tired already, but I seemed to still have a lot of energy left. And Yes, I overtook him once again! Sigh that dirty boy Weijian, only know how to resort to dirt tricks. Hahaha. We cycled really really slow, and then Geraldina finally caught up with us. And yay, we all reached at final station, at the bicycle shop! We reached at 5am, and waited for the rest to come. We wanted to GL (guai lan) all the people, so I called Guo An, Benson, Michelle, Gary; and Weijian called Justin, to rush them to hurry up come back. Hahaha, we so action, but what to do, we just love to brag. HAHAHA. Guo An was the next to reach, and he kept commenting about my fats giving me so much energy to burn and cycle so fast, so zai. Hahaha. I take it as a compliment okay, Jackie Ah Gong. Sihua is not bad one loh, she came in 5th or 6th lah. Don't see her so small and scrawny, she not weak lah! All of us were quite shocked. Hahaha. The rest slowly came in, and then when everyone arrived, I demanded to take a group photo, because I had to go soon for the Big Walk, but everyone did give a hoot about me. Hahaha. It's ok, I forgive everyone because they were all too tired to move.I woke Geraldina up, and then met Vanessa and Wayne at Macdonald's. We hailed a cab, and managed to squeeze Wayne's $3.7k bicycle in the car boot. Gosh, one scratch, 100 bucks, heart pain. It took me less than 10 minutes to reach City Hall, and I was the first to reach and also very on time. The next pair to come was Jon Yeo and Jacqueline. The three of us walked to Raffles City to use their so big and clean washroom, and then grabbed a bite at Subway. Eames then joined us, and then followed by Ying Hua. We walked over to Suntec City to wait for the Big Walk to start. Huiting and Huadong came to find us, and that was about all of us. Supposed to have more people joining us, but sheesh, too bad, it would have been more fun with them around. Met Shauqi near the starting line, but we got seperated as soon as we moved past the exit of Suntec City. I had a hearty chat with Yinghua all the way, sadly, leaving Huadong and Huiting left behind. WHOOPS. HAHAHA. But we did try to talk to them, but it was so difficult for us to walk in fours and talk because there were soooo many people. We crossed the something something bridge, but instead of enjoying the walk, we were already complaining about the crowds, the waiting time, our muddy shoes, and how tired we were. Especially Yinghua and I, I did not even have a wink, Yinghua was having a hangover from her first time @ Zouk. We were complaining about hunger and all, and that stupid Huadong had sweets in his bag but didn't tell us until we got our goodie bags.
We reached some water tech park or something wherever it was, and collected our goodie bag. The goodie bag wasn't fantastic, and I sort of felt cheated, except for the nice kimchi bottle I got. We boarded a bus to Suntec City and I slept throughout. We were indecisive on where to eat, but finalized it at Macdonald's. Went over to KFC to buy a fattening 2piece chicken meal, and tried to gorge myself, even when I was awfully sleepy. We collected our goodie bag at the Suntec City counter and once I opened the bag, I felt cheated. The booklet of vouchers were almost useless. We waited for Yinghua to come back to find us, and then went seperate ways to take our mode of transport home. We decided to give the Korean Festival Fair at Vivo City a miss because we were all feeling too tired or lazy to go. Boarded Express 502 with Huiting and Huadong, and I slept throughout the journey until Huadong woke me up one stop after mine. Hahaha. Good job man, Gu Gu Jiao and Lao Chik. Once I got home, I just simply dropped on the couch from 2plus all the way till the next morning for school.
Song Bo! I can blog so much for just about 16 hours!
